“Il Pontile is the newest resident on Woolloomooloo’s Finger Wharf and it’s causing a stir for all the right reasons. From the look and feel, to the well curated menu, there is much to love about this Italian restaurant.
Setting the scene for a beautifully delicious day out, the stylish restaurant (designed by renowned studio Bang Bang) takes inspiration from Grecian design; think archways, a muted, neutral palette and opulent finishings. The bar wows guests upon entry with its curved shape and well stocked shelves, and the way in which the restaurant makes the most of its waterfront setting, through high ceilings and not overfilling the space, just adds to the whole luxe experience.
When it comes to the food, it does not dissappoint. Boasting a lavish menu of fresh seafood, pasta and bistecca, you’ll find it difficult to narrow down your options. Our two suggestions would be arrive hungry and bring more than one friend, so you can make the most of the menu and share a bit of everything. You will want to try the linguine baked in a parcel with mixed seafood, along with the too-pretty to eat jumbo scampi with finger lime. To wash it down, a glass of prosecco is the appropriate pairing.
Coming into the festive season, there is no doubt that Il Pontile makes for the perfect long lunch location.”
